The spectacular Las Vegas showdown between undefeated former world champion boxer Mayweather and current UFC lightweight champion McGregor will be shown live on Sky Sports Box Office on August 26.
Former five-weight champion Mayweather holds a perfect 49-0 fight record but Hearn believes the fight with McGregor – who has never professionally boxed before – offers a chance to see if a UFC champion can do what no boxer has done before.
“For me Floyd Mayweather is one of the greatest fighters of all time, certainly the greatest over the last decade,” Hearn, who represents world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua, told Sky Sports News.
“Pacquiao and Canelo couldn’t win a round against him, so how is Conor McGregor going to do that? A man who hasn’t even had a fight before.
“Well, he knows how to fight, he can punch but for me it is a straightforward victory for Mayweather.
“I can’t see Conor McGregor winning this fight unless he can land a shot from nowhere, but no one has been able to do that.
“He [Mayweather] is an incredible pound-for-pound fighter. But people want to see if it’s possible – four weeks to go.”
