The Confederation of African Football [CAF] has postponed the African qualifiers for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 due to disruptions in COVID-19 travel restrictions.

The qualifiers which was scheduled to take place in June will new take place in September, October and November 2021, and March 2022.

In a release this morning, CAF said it is re assessing its protocols and processes to enhance the implementation of COVID-related protocols, including specifically focusing on pre-match testing which had been the source of some challenges in previous windows.
