Coach of AshantiGold SC Charles Kwabena Akunnor has fired a word of cautioning to Kwesi Appiah saying that the Black Stars coach must go for players who will help him to succeed.

“There are a lot of good Ghanaian players out there, but I think the coach [Kwesi Appiah] must go for players who’ll help him to succeed,” the former captain of the Black Stars – C.K Akunnor told Joe Debrah on Happy [98.9] FM on Sunday, September 03.

Sharing his view [s] on the Black Stars game against their Congolese counterpart on Friday C.K Akunnor noted that the Black Stars invited pressure upon themselves by thinking too much about the game between Uganda and Egypt which was played a day before the Ghana-Congo must win clash.

According to the former Wolfsburg captain [C.K Akunnor] the Congolese felt at home on the day whilst the Black Stars were rather playing like the away team because the Red Devils were the ones dictating the pace of the game right from the onset.

Coach C.K Akunnor further reiterated that Kwesi Appiah should rather concentrate on building a better team for the next African Cup of Nations [AFCON] rather than trying to qualify to the World Cup by all means because the chances are not too good for Ghana although the Black Stars are not completely out now.
