Coach C.K Akunnor and George Owu both of AshantiGold SC have been named the NASCO Premier League Coach and Player of the Month [June] respectively.

George Owu beat competition from David Abagna [Wa Al Stars] and Joseph Paintsil [Tema Youth] to become the first goalkeeper to win the coveted prize since the inception of the award two months ago.

According to the Premier League Board [PLB] George Owu kept four clean sheets in the month under consideration.

On the other hand, C.K Akunnor [AshantiGold SC] also won the Coach of the Month [June] ahead of Klavs Rasmussen [WAFA] and Edward Odoom [Tema Youth].

C.K Akunnor led the soccer miners to win four matches in the month of June, scoring eight goals on the road without conceding.

The winners will receive their prizes – Q6 sleek mobile phones from the sponsors [NASCO Electronics] before the kick off of their week 22 match against the West Africa Football Academy.
