Five-time world 100m champion, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce and 2022 Commonwealth Games 100m [men’s] champion – Ferdinand Omanyala have both confirmed to take part in this year’s Botswana Golden Grand Prix on April 29 in Gaborone.
Africa now has two events on the World Athletics Continental Gold Tour with the inclusion of Botswana after Kenya’s Kip Keino Classic that comes on May 13 at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
“will be returning to Africa at the Botswana Continental Tour Gold track meet,” said Fraser-Pryce in a message to her fans.
“I am excited to be opening my season so you guys get to see me run fast and have fun,” she added.
The Beast from the East, Omanyala has also pledge to bring down the National Stadium:
“I am promising you a big show…I am coming to bring down the National Stadium in Gaborone down,” vowed Omanyala, the Africa 100m record holder in 9.77 seconds.
The fastest man in Africa [Omanyala] edged out Fred Kerley from the United States to win at Kip Keino Classic in 9.85 seconds last year.
