Columbus Crew dominant captain – Jonathan Mensah has been named in the MLS Team of the Week [Week 2].

The Ghanaian stalwart central defender [Mensah] had 13 clearances in Crew’s win against the Red Bulls and was a primary reason the team did not allow a shot on goal.

Jonathan Mensah has also been a calm figure on the ball when building the attack from the back.

According to stat tracker Opta, the Black Stars defender [Mensah] completed 135 passes against Cincinnati, which is the second-highest number of completed passes in an MLS game since 2010.

The players on the latest Team of the Week contributed 12 goals and a total of $12,000 which the Audi Goals Drive Progress program will contribute to MLS club academies, which have produced the likes of Akinola, Aaronson, and Pineda.
