Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles has taken a well-deserved break from gymnastics during 2017, but she hasn’t gotten any relief from Internet trolls.
Biles, 20, was in Hawaii for a family vacation and was sharing photos of her trip via social media, when a commenter replied to one of the photos, insulting Biles and her decision to take time off.
“Seems like u have partied non stop for a year #trash #unfollow #suckyassrolemodel,” the person wrote in the comments section of the photo.
The athlete replied with the most appropriate comment one could make in her situation: by bringing up her numerous Olympic medals and years of training.
“Talk to me when you train for 14 years and earn 5 Olympic medals,” Biles wrote. “I think kids would say otherwise. My year off is well deserved! Take a couple seats.”
