Safety and equipment officer of Great Olympics – Emmanuel Saint Osei has revealed that Gladson Awako was slapped by an irate supporter in their matchweek 15 game against Eleven Wonders at the Nana Ameyaw Park in Techiman.

Speaking with Yaw Ampofo Ankrah on Max TV on Tuesday, Saint Osei, a staunch fan of the Wonder Club disclosed some of the dark things that goes on behind the scenes in the Ghana Premier League.

According to Saint Osei, a supporter of Eleven Wonders FC went as far as slapping Great Olympics captain, Gladson Awako prior to the second half of their matchday 15 game played on February 21, 2021 in Techiman.

This act, he said inflamed passions to the extent that the CEO of Great Olympics nearly called off the match, but for the swift intervention of his opposite CEO from Eleven Wonders.

According to Saint Osei, the fine teams pay for their supporters misconduct is not punitive enough and that the GFA must consider deducting points as well should the guilty party goes ahead to win the match, because those acts could intimidate a referees to take a decision in favour of the home team.

Great Olympics lost that particular game 1-0.
