AshantiGold Sporting Club will be looking to punish Asante Kotoko in their own coin as the two sides lock horns today at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in an outstanding matchday 27 fixture of the 2017 Ghana Premier League.

The soccer miners – AshantiGold has seen a tremendous change from their former form since the arrival of coach C.K Akunnor who has instilled confidence back into the team that looked certain to bow out of the Premier League in the first round.

Whilst C.K Akunnor has found Theophilus Nyame as the perfect shield in front of his defensive back line, former Dreams FC attacker [Daniel Gozar] has also added a lot of bite upfront for the soccer miners.

The visitors don’t have too match to complain about in defence where C.K Akunnor can always count on the experience of goalkeeper George Owu, Tijani Joshua, Richard Ocran, and Abeiku Ainooson to calm situations at the back.

Unlike the free scoring AshantiGold, Asante Kotoko have been grinding results at the Baba Yara Stadium and coach Steve Pollack will be looking forward to having the last say in today’s epic clash regardless of the threat in the soccer miners’ attack.

The main problem of Asante Kotoko in the entire season has been how to convert chances into goals, but they cannot afford to write the same script in today’s encounter because the visitors [AshantiGold] have the men with goals in their boots who can punish the Porcupine Warriors should they be given the chance.

Again, Steve Pollack must deploy a strategy that can neutralize Amos Addai and Emmanuel Osei Baffour from running the boat from the flanks whiles depending on the speed of Emmanuel Gyamfi anytime they go on the counter.

History favors the Porcupine Warriors at home, but trust the Betway Boys [AshantiGold SC] to deliver at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium especially as a defeat could push them down on the league table should Liberty Professionals beat Medeama SC in the other outstanding match.

Probable line-ups:

Asante Kotoko: Felix Annan, Amos Frimpong [Captain], Emmanuel Donkor, Ahmed Adams, Awal Mohammed, Jackson Owusu, Emmanuel Gyamfi, Kwame Boahene, Saddick Adams, Obed Owusu, Baba Mahama.

AshantiGold SC: George Owu, Tijani Joshua, Roland Amouzou, Richard Ocran, Abeiku Ainooson, Joseph Gordon, Amos Addai, Theophilus Nyame, Daniel Gozar, Hans Kwofie, Osei Baffour Emmanuel.
