Head coach of Asante Kotoko – Mariano Barreto has welcomed the return of his two attacking midfielders Augustine Okrah and Fabio Gama ahead of the Porcupine Warriors tough game against Medeama SC this afternoon.
The duo were absent in their last trip to the capital, where Asante Kotoko drew blanks with Great Olympics. Okrah missed the game because of injury whiles Fabio Gama could not feature due to accumulated yellow cards.
Both players are part of the squad that traveled to Obuasi and the coach had this to say about their presence:
“We are stronger with Okrah and Gama. Okrah didn’t play the last game because he was injured and we didn’t want to risk him. But he and Gama are ready.”
The Portuguese trainer who seem to have fallen in love with the talent of Augustine Okrah had this to say about the player in his last post match conference:
“One of the best players in the Ghana Premier League is Augustine Okrah and he is a Ghanaian.”
Barreto also expressed his delight about the return of supporters to match venues.
“This is wonderful because the two important things in football are the players and the fans. Without players we don’t have football and without fans the game becomes less amazing.”
He, however, urged the supporters to keep supporting the team throughout the minutes and not relent when the going get tough.
