It was an incredible spectacle at the DG Hathramani Hall of the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday as Police officer – Grace Mintah toppled Yasmin Kadiri Moro to be crowned the new queen of Ghana Armwrestling.
Mintah, a gold medalist at the 2019 Africa Armwrestling Championship in Mali came in strongly after two-year absence to defeat Mary Aryeetey and Florence Boakye Mensah for a final showdown with the defending heavyweight champion Yasmin Kadiri Moro, otherwise known as Bukom Vampire in the right arm contest.


But, Grace Mintah distinguished herself excellently in the final analysis as she dismissed the defending champion, Yasmin with a 2 straight wins to be crowned the right arm champion and squared of with Florence Boakye in the left arm contest, defeating the later to also win that contest.
Having won both the left and right arm contest, the Police officer [Grace Mintah] became the new Ghana Champion in the women’s Armwrestling heavyweight and was decorated with a huge miniature Armwrestling trophy, gold medal, cash prize and products from event partners.
Meanwhile, Para athlete – Haruna ‘The Warrior’ Tahiru also won the bragging right as the best in the heavyweight contest as he displayed a warrior-some performances against Isaac Antwi Boasiako, undefeated Derrick Kwakye, and Fawzi Saoud who flew down from Lebanon for the Supermatch.
For his prize, he received an Armwrestling miniature trophy, cash prize and other attractive prizes.

The Armwrestling Supermatch was organized by the Ghana Armwrestling Federation to usher the GAF into the Armwrestling season post Covid-19 and also to prepare the Golden Arms for the World Armwrestling Championships in Georgia where over 1,600 pullers from across the world will converge to determine World’s best in the arm business.
The event was partnered by K-Balm Ointment, Happy FM, Opportunity International Savings & Loans, Legaci101 Sports Consultant, Perception Management International, Brand Surge Marketing, Twellium Industres, Exploxa Energy Drink.
In attendance was Federation heads and Board members of Ghana Armwrestling Federation including; Charles Osei Asibey [President], Kofi Addo-Agyekum of KofiKrom Pharmacy, Dr. Prince Pambo, Miss Christine Ashley, Mr. Melvin Brown, Mr. Frederick Otu Lartey, Mr. Kwabena Yeboah, amongst others.
