AmaZulu Football Club attacking midfielder – Charlie Hlalele has said that he is close to making his 2019/20 debut.

The 25-year-old midfielder had to sit out for 13 months due an achilles tendon injury he sustained two weeks to the start of the Premier Soccer League [PSL] season, but Hlalele says his rehab has gone according to plan.

“I sustained an injury 2 weeks prior to the start of the season and it took me quite a long-long time to recover,” said 25 year old.

“It was a painful process, but I had to take it one day at a time. I had to do my rehab, my strength, and always tried to stay positive and disciplined.”

“Everyone knows, to be on the side lines for so many months is not easy,”

The Bloemfontein born midfielder last featured for Usuthu on the 11th of May 2019 in an away encounter against Bloemfontein Celtic.

Hlalele further reiterated that he is ready to impress his coach and also help the team accumulate maximum points.

“It’s just that I need to work on my full fitness. If I am lucky enough, I can win my spot in the team, the squad or even in the starting line up in one of the remaining matches,”
