Head coach of the Teranga Lions – Aliou Cissé has congratulated the Equatorial Guinean team for putting up a good fight in their quarter-final game against Senegal at the on-going TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations.

Three goals from Famara Diedhiou, Cheikhou Kouyaté and Ismaïla Sarr was enough for Senegal to seal a 3-1 win over the Nzalang Nacional of Equatorial Guinea at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde.

“We played a hard-fought game against a good Equatorial Guinean team. We had the mentality to score three goals,” Cissé said in a post match interview.
