Aduana Stars maintained their record of not conceding a single goal at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa Ahenkro yesterday having drawn blanks [goalless] with Asante Kotoko on matchday 18 of the 2017 Ghana Premier League.

Both clubs had a go at each other in the first half, but created a limited goal scoring opportunities. Aduana Stars looked a shade better than the Porcupine Warriors [Asante Kotoko] but it was Saddick Adams, who nearly broke the deadlock for the visitors in the 40th minute with a rampaging free-kick.

Former Techiman City Football Club [TCFC] midfield engineer, Baba Mahama was the star man within the Asante Kotoko midfield quartet, but Aduana Stars gave him very limited space in the danger zone to cause real havoc to the Ogya Boys [Aduana Stars].

Nathaniel Ohene Asamoah came close a few times in the first half but his final deliveries at goal was very weak to kill a fly, leaving the score line before the break at 0-0.

Coach Yusuf Abubakar’s side [Aduana Stars] raised the bar in the second half having seized the midfield from Kotoko except that their strikers were completely wasteful in front of the goal post.

The story got worse for Asante Kotoko in the 72nd minute when their man in the hole, [Owusu Jackson] was given a red card after a second bookable offence, but the visitors defended gallantly in the last eighteen minute of the game despite the numerical disadvantage which gave Aduana Stars the impetus to throw more men forward in search of the opener.

The results [0-0] leave Aduana Stars at the second position on the league ladder with 34 points whiles the Porcupine Warriors have moved to the fifth spot with 26 points.
