The Mayor of Accra, Mohammed Adjei-Sowah has said that city authorities could leverage on sports to transmogrify their areas of jurisdiction.
“We can transform the city through sports,” Mohammed Adjei-Sowah told said at the press launch of the Accra 2018 Africa Armwrestling Championship.
The Mayor noted that aside the competition, auxiliary activities such as local tourism will be bolstered and called on hotels and the various hostels to take advantage as Ghana welcomes the rest of Africa.
He also pledged to support the Ghana Armwrestling Federation [GAF] in its quest to hosting a successful event.
“The AMA and myself have lend our supports towards the successful hosting of this championship.”
The AMA Boss – Mohammed Adjei-Sowah was however quick to add that he’s going to form his own armwrestling team ahead of the competition.
The Accra 2018 will be held from July 26 to July 29 in Ghana with the catch phrase – ‘Team work makes the Dream.’
