Asante Kotoko Brazilian forward – Fabio Gama became the subject matter on various sports platforms in Ghana yesterday having thrown an acidic jibe at their fiercest rivals – Hearts of Oak.
In an interview with Kumasi based radio station [Pure FM] the quiet unassuming personality, despite playing in the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League claimed that he doesn’t know a club called Hearts of Oak.
“No I don’t know what is that,” the Brazilian retorted when he was quizzed if he had heard of the Phobians.
This comment from Gama did not go down well with a section of Hearts of Oak supporters who see it as a beef being thrown at them.
The Phobians took to social media, twitter, particularly to vent their spleen at Fabio Gama who was part of the Asante Kotoko set up that played 1-1 draw with Hearts of Oak in the first round of the league at the Accra Sports Stadium.
According to Gama, who joined the Porcupine Warriors this season, Asante Kotoko is the biggest club in Ghana.
The attacking midfielder added that he likes sobolo [a locally manufactured Ghanaian drink with a medicinal value].
