Pitso Mosimane has described Mamelodi Sundowns as a monster he created that is ready to bite him ahead of Al Ahly’s CAF Champions League quarter-final first leg against the Brazilians on Saturday.

The Richards Bay born is credited as the one who the Brazilians [Sundowns] into the dominant force, guiding them to win the 2016 Champions League title.

This will be the third consecutive season in which the clubs meet at the last-eight stage with honours even as Sundowns triumphed in 2019 and record nine-time champions Ahly gained revenge last season.

Sundowns emerged topped Group B with 13 points, ahead of CR Belouizdad [9 points] whiles the Red Devils finished second [11 points] in Group A.

Meanwhile, the Cairo based club enjoys the lion share in their last nine meetings with Masandawana, winning four, drawing three and losing just once.

But, despite the overall superiority of the Red Devils, Pitso Mosimane think Mamelodi Sundowns can cause a surprise should Ahly be complacent.

The Brazilians are runner away winners of the DStv Premier League.
