World Martial Arts Committee title holder, Lawrence Nyanyo Nmai has applauded the Sports Writers Association of Ghana [SWAG] for initiating the famous annual SWAG awards which seeks to reward sportsmen and women for distinguishing themselves in a particular discipline.
Speaking in an interview with www.sports24ghana.com on how he sees the SWAG awards Lawrence said:
“I think SWAG is doing a great job by putting this award together to honour all sportsmen in Ghana. I think it is good for motivation not only for kickboxing, but all the other disciplines.”
The European based kickboxer [Lawrence Nmai] who has been nominated by SWAG as the best kickboxer of the year feels he really deserve the award looking at his performance in the year under review.
“I feel very comfortable, and I feel like I have worked for it so I deserve it. I feel very calm and respectful to receive this SWAG award,” Lawrence told www.sports24ghana.com
In his quest to see the sport develop in Ghana, Lawrence donated some equipment [10 pieces of gloves, head guards, chin pads, and protector for the elbows] to the Ghana Kickboxing Federation yesterday when he met the executives.
