Business manager and former Ghanaian international footballer Mr. Anthony Baffoe won the 2016 SWAG Sports Personality of the Year at the just ended 42nd MTN-SWAG Awards Night held at the Banquet Hall in Accra on Saturday, May 27, 2017.
The German born Ghanaian [Anthony Baffoe] beat competition from IBO [International Boxing Organization] lightweight champion Emmanuel ‘The Game Boy’ Tagoe to win the most enviable crown.
After retiring from professional football in 1999, Mr. Anthony Baffoe [52] who played in four different countries – Germany, France, Hong Kong, and Venezuela during his hay days has performed various roles for both the Federation of International Football Association [FIFA] as well as the Confederation of African Football [CAF].
Born in Bad Godesberg [West Germany] is a FIFA Ambassador for campaign against racism and Play Soccer Ghana.
His Ambassadorial role against racism in football gained world attention recently when Ghanaian footballer, Sulley Ali Muntari was racially abused during a Serie A match involving Pescara and Cagliari.
The main aim of the pfaG is to seek for the welfare of all professional footballers not excluding those who on the local scene.
