Four second half goals settled the matter at the Accra Sports Stadium this afternoon as comeback kings – Asante Kotoko rose from an early slumber to humiliate Dreams FC 3-1 to go atop of the 2021/22 Ghanaian Premier League table.
After a thrilling but goalless first half, both teams came into the second stanza with an all-attacking mindset.
Dreams FC, however, broke the deadlock in the 64th minute through a solo effort from their newfound dexterous attacking middie – Abdul Fatawu Issahaku.
Just as Dreams FC were dreaming of snatching their first ever home win over Asante Kotoko, the Porcupine Warriors were on the other hand reserving their best for the last, scoring three goals in the last five minutes to claim all three points.
Mudasiru Salifu pulled parity for Asante Kotoko in the 85th minute before substitute, Isaac Oppong gave the Porcupine Warriors the lead in the 87th minute.
Just as everybody thought the game was over, aesthetic goal scoring specialist – Richmond Lamptey pulled up another blueprint from his wardrobe, shooting from 23 metres away to beat Solomon Abasi in post for Dreams FC.
