Three matches took place on Friday as part of the first leg of the first preliminary round of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup 2021-2022.
AS Kigali and Biashara United notched away wins, Bumamuru FC and Diables Noirs parted in a goalless draw.
Olympique de Missiri [Comoros] 1 – 2 AS Kigali [Rwanda]
Facing this afternoon AS Kigali of Rwanda in the first preliminary round of the TotalEnergies CAF CC, Comoros’ Olympique de Missiri started their campaign with a 2-1 defeat.
Pierre Kwizera broke the deadlock for the visitors in the 36th minute, he was imitated by his teammate just before the break. Rwandans lead 2-0 at halftime at the Moroni Malouzini stadium.
The home side nonetheless close the gap in the 53rd minute. However, the long-awaited equalizer will never come. Rwanda will need only a draw in the second leg to reach the second preliminary round, while Olympique de Missiri will absolutely have to win.
Bumamuru FC [Burundi] 0 – 0 Diables Noirs [Congo]
No goal between Burundi’s Bumamuru FC and Congo’s Diables Noirs this afternoon at the Azam Complex in Dar Es Salam. The return match scheduled for September 17 at the Alphonse Massamba Debat Stadium in Brazzaville, will be decisive for both teams.
FC Dikhil [Djibouti] 0 – 1 Biashara United [Tanzania]
Djibouti’s Stade Gouled hosted the match between local team FC Dikhil and Tanzania’s Biashara United on Friday. One goal was enough for the visitors to win the game.
The providential man on the Tanzanian side is called Dennis Nkwane. He shook the net in the 55th minute of play, scoring the only goal of the game.
Despite attempts by both sides, the score on the scoreboard will not change.
