Gladson Awako was the star man as Great Olympics washed aside Legon Cities Football Club at the Accra Sports Stadium on Friday.

Having wrestled for a 1-1 drawn game with Medeama SC on matchday 1 of the 2020/21 Ghana Premier League, much were expected from the wonder club, but only few believed that Great Olympics had the capacity to beat the branding grandmasters of Ghana football [Legon Cities FC] by 3-0.

Olympics exerted their energy on the game right from the blast of the referees whistle, but could not hit the back of the net until the 44th minute when Gladson Awako’s free kick from just outside the eighteen yard box went straight into the post.

The equation did not change in the second stanza as the wonder club maintained their supremacy over the visitors.

Maxwell Quaye extended the lead for Great Olympics in the 53rd minute from the spot before Samuel Quaye signed off the day for his side with the third goal.

The win puts Great Olympics atop the Ghana Premier League table with 4 points.
