After weeks of stakeholder engagements the Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association [GFA] has finally taken a decision to annul the 2019/20 football season.

The 18-team league competition was suspended since March 16 due to the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic when the league had reached its matchweek 15. Ghana had then confirmed six cases of COVID-19.

According to the GFA, all records associated with the 2019/20 season have been expunged but fines accrued must be honoured by clubs. There shall also be no demotion and promotion.

Meanwhile, Asante Kotoko SC and AshantiGold SC have been chosen to represent Ghana in the CAF Champions League and the Confederations Cup respectively.

The Executive Council will, however, meet tomorrow to deliberate on issues relating to the next football season and Congress.
