Liberty Professionals proved why they are a force to reckon with on the road as the scientific soccer lads shocked WAFA yesterday, beating the soccer physicians 2-1 at the Red Bull Arena in Sogakope on matchday 6 of the 2019/2020 Ghana Premier League.

Goals in each half from Elvis Kyei Baffour and Alhassan Mubarsah helped the visitors to grab all the three maximum points at stake.

The scientific soccer lads took the lead in the 29th minute through Kyei Baffour. Konadu Yiadom brought down the Liberty Professionals attacker [Kyei Baffour] in the box which the referee whistled for a penalty.

Elvis Kyei Baffour owned himself up to the task and passed with distinction, scoring from the spot.

The West African Football Academy [WAFA] came into the picture very strong after the goal, but the defensive network of Liberty Professionals stood firm holding onto their 1-0 lead to the break.

The Liberty Professionals defence line surrendered to the pressure from the soccer physicians in the 70th minute as substitute Samson Agyapong leveled for WAFA.

But the scientific soccer lads took the lead again in the 79th minute through Alhassan Mubarsah to maintain Liberty Professionals enviable unbeaten away run.

Despite the defeat WAFA’s Abukari Ibrahim [captain] was named NASCO Man of the Match.
