The Normalisation Committee (NC) of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has sought permission from the world soccer governing body, FIFA, to enable it get additional personnel to help it organise the upcoming FA elections.

The president of the NC, Dr Kofi Amoah, disclosed this at today’s Extraordinary Congress held at the College of Physicians and Surgeons in Accra.

“The NC has asked FIFA for a few more hands to form committees for the organisation and supervision of the electoral process”, Dr Amoah told congress.

The NC boss seized the opportunity to announce the opening of the much-anticipated GFA elections just before lowering the curtain to mark the end of his first congress as the head of the interim FA body.

He, however, explained that the Election Regulations, which had been unanimously approved by congress earlier, would be used to draw a roadmap for the elections. However, no dates were set for the electoral process.

Present at yesterday’s well-attended GFA extraordinary Congress were FIFA observers, Luca Nicola and Solomon Mudege.
