Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Dele Alli has a classy message for supporters ahead of the Champions League final against Liverpool.
It’s been almost three weeks since Mauricio Pochettino last played a game of football and that was against another side from Merseyside – that was a 2-2 draw with Everton on the final game of the Premier League season.
But with a European final on the horizon, it’s safe to say excitement is beginning to build amongst supporters.
Mauricio Pochettino and his 26-man squad which includes the likes of Alli, Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen, Davinson Sanchez, Jan Vertonghen and the semi-final hero Lucas Moura are already in Spain and are being joined by the club’s supporters.
Many have already made the trip to the Spanish capital, while others are expected to arrive over the next few hours.
For Alli this will be his first ever European final and he has more than played his part in Spurs’ journey to the Spanish capital.
It was his pass which was finished off by Lucas Moura in injury time to complete the stunning turnaround against Ajax in the semi-final, thus setting up an all-Premier League final against the Reds.
With the final training session done, in just a few hours the north London outfit will contest arguably the biggest game in their history and Alli has a message for the travelling supporters ahead of kick-off at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium.
“All preparations are done,” the midfielder tweeted. “We’ve worked so hard to get to this point and we’ll do everything in our power to finish what we started.
“I wish all the travelling Spurs fans a safe journey and can’t thank everyone enough for the support throughout this competition.”
